We were on the Southside to go to the City Theatre and planned
on having dinner some where on Carson St. As we were parking
our car we ran into a friend and asked him for a recommendation.
He told us about the 17th. St. Cafe. Boy do we owe him big time.
We had a wonderful dinner. The food was fantastic.
I had the London Broil special which was cut so well and was so tender.
My friend had the New York Strip with a sherry butter sauce that
was to die for.  We were treated so well by Pat the owner and
ALL of the Wait staff you would have thought we were long lost friends.
We our so HAPPY we found the 17th St. Cafe
and we can't wait to go back”

I have been eating at 17th Street Cafe in South Side for years. It is my favorite place in Pittsburgh. Their food is the best in the city.

I highly recommend this restaurant! We ordered the blue cheese filet and pan-fried salmon. Both were out of this world! All plates (including theirs) were nearly licked clean ~ and trust me, we are very civilized people. We will definitely be back!!!!

17th St. Cafe is one of my favorite restaurants in Pittsburgh. We frequently have our "girl's night out" there. The atmosphere is great and the food is wonderful. We have always had excellent service. It's fun when the chef comes out to talk. I would highly recommend eating here!!!

We couldn't believe we had never heard of or been to this fantastic little gem hidden away on 17th street. The wine that was recommended was the best cabernet I have had in years. If you have never been to the 17th St Cafe, you have to go. It is a wonderful dining experience.

I have never had an average meal at this establishment. Their best dish is the roasted red pepper bisque. It is absolutely superior to anything else I have sampled across the country! I highly recommend this restaurant and the soup is a must-have!

Service is prompt and the employees are all very friendly and attentive. Plus they also have a rewards program as a thank you to their customers, which is wonderful. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a nice, relaxing meal with friends or a nice, romantic dinner. You can't beat the value.

I became a 17th street groupie. No matter if I am there for lunch or dinner, the chef/owner always comes to every table to "talk to the patrons". It seems like he is friend’s with everyone who is in the restaurant. I can't even recommend a dish since everything I have had has been great. See you there!

Great Italian food! as well as great steaks, seafood! Delightful, warm place, makes you feel welcome anytime you're there. Have been there many times, and will continue to return, especially for their balsamic salad dressing.

Freshest, biggest burgers with the best toppings. You can tell the beef is fresh, it's ground perfectly - the burgers are huge and the toppings are the best. Can't be beat!

The 17th St. Cafe is one of the best dining destinations on the south side. You can easily notice the food is made by hand and not from some frozen or processed package like many chain restaurants do. want to have a relaxing, welcoming, and well above-average dinner.
